A Super Racehorse & World Sire
Supergill was a top colt and one of the best horses we ever had. Bred and raised at Castleton Farm, KY, he is by Super Bowl out the top mare Winkys Gill, herself a World Champion and multiple stakes winner and also a Continental Farms graduate. Supergill was a $500.000 yearling purchase at Tattersalls in Lexington, and he did not disappoint his owner, winning the Peter Haughton Memorial at two. Unfortunate for him he had to compete with Armbro Goal as a 3 year old, but nevertheless won among other races the Review Futurity in Springfield in 1:53.3, a National seasons record in 1988. After his racing career, he has gone on to become one the best stallions in the world having a banner year in 1996, when his offspring won several Major Stake races, among those the Kentucky Futurity. During his 3 year old campaign he was owned by Jorgen Jahre jr. from Norway, one of our longtime supporters. |
